WELCOME - Primary Pediatric Medical Group
We welcome you to our office and thank you for your expression of confidence in choosing us to care for your child. This website is intended to serve as an introduction to our pediatric practice and as an ongoing resource for information about the best ways to keep your child and family healthy.
We are a group medical practice of 9 physicians and 2 nurse practitioners, one of whom is a board certified lactation consultant. We are here to provide excellent health care for your child from infancy through their adolescent years including preventive health care, immunizations, anticipatory guidance, treatment for childhood illnesses, and lactation support. Although we are a group practice, we endeavor to have our patients see the clinician of their choice at each visit while always having a provider available when an emergency arises.
In an effort to keep our patients and staff safe and healthy, we are encouraging children and families with respiratory illness symptoms including cough, runny nose, congestion to stay home and do symptomatic care. Our providers are able to answer any questions families may have about the best measures to take at home. To ensure rapid identification and isolation of patients with symptoms of suspected coronavirus (COVID-19) or other respiratory infections, Primary Pediatrics is asking families to call us prior to your appointment if the patient or caregiver has:
Had contact with a person known to have coronavirus infection within the last 14 days or,
recent travel outside of Alameda County within the last 14 days
OR ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:
a temperature greater than 100.4 , cough or, trouble breathing or,
vomiting and/or diarrhea.
We will then help determine if they meet requirements for testing.
Due to concern for the safety of our patients and staff, Primary Pediatrics will be canceling our drop-in hours on Saturday mornings in Castro Valley. As our community attempts to halt the spread of COVID-19, we must screen patients who have possibly been exposed and keep them away from healthy patients. As we are not able to triage appropriately at a drop-in clinic, we will be suspending Saturday clinics until further notice. Please contact the advice line if you have questions over the weekend, and we will be open normally during the week at all three locations.
You can call our office for advice during the day or our nurse advice line at 510-486-8344 after hours.
Our goal is to provide exceptional pediatric care to every family every day with a spirit of warmth, friendliness, and compassion.
Happy, Healthy Families
